About Us
Home to the Human Spirit
For more than a decade, Rhode Island MENTOR has served children and adults through our Therapeutic Foster Care program for children with emotional and behavioral issues due to abuse or neglect; and our Shared Living program for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In addition to these residential programs, we offer an array of services including supported living, transitional programming, respite care, program follow-up care, and more.
Rhode Island MENTOR has a proven track record of providing innovative programs and services to help the individuals we serve grow and thrive through consistency, love and quality of care. Our service approach is based on an innovative model where individuals live in homes with specially trained caregivers called Mentors. Mentors, also known as Foster Parents or Host-Home providers, are carefully selected and supported by our highly trained and dedicated staff in three program offices across the state. Working in partnership with program staff, family members, and others, our Mentors help each individual reach their goals and live full lives within the community.
A Community of Caring: A Network of Quality
As a part of The MENTOR Network, a national network of local human service providers, Rhode Island MENTOR provides those who work with us and those we serve the benefits of a strong national structure coupled with the specialized programs and localized services offered at various locations throughout
Rhode Island MENTOR has access to a quality assurance program with staff at both the state and national level which provides information on proven practices and tools as well as an opportunity for staff throughout The Network to share best practices. We also provide standard operations for our programs across the state including intake procedures, processes, policies, forms and systems which are continually reevaluated.
