Become a Mentor

Have you ever wanted the chance to positively impact the life of a child or bring joy, satisfaction, and companionship to an individual with Developmental Disabilities?  As a Mentor, you have that chance.

There is perhaps no opportunity as rewarding as one that helps other people – particularly those who are in need of a home and a supportive relationship.  As a Mentor to a foster child, you become teacher and caregiver to a vulnerable person – one who needs you, your home and your heart.   As Mentor for someone with developmental disabilities, you provide the natural environment many people with disabilities desire to live and grow.

Mentors are specially trained to care for a child or adult with developmental disabilities in the Mentor's home.  As part of the individual’s support team, a Mentor plays a pivotal role in helping an individual achieve his or her goals and in providing that person with a warm, caring environment.   Because each Mentor addresses the unique needs of the person with whom they live, the Mentor model is highly customized and adaptable and has been proven very successful among people who are best served in individualized settings.
